I’ll Wait
I’ll wait~
I gave for years~
I put down ~
To continuously lift myself up~
Inside I frowned.
I’ll wait~
I raised the little ones with tears~
I built you up~
I earned my keep~
I ran the household~
Inward I was known to weep.
I’ll wait~
I played fare~
I asked with courage~
No one could tell~
My deep despair.
I’ll wait~
I learned as the time appeared~
To be patient~
While others leered.
I’ll wait~
Yet it was too late~
You scoundrel to be feared~
I played chess~
Used the best logic~
I could not catch~
A pleasant breath~
I lost what I had to invest.
I’ll wait~
I un-confrontational gave~
For right reasons. ~
You were selfish~
Did mean things~
With no just cause~
No matter~
I still survive the stings!
I’ll wait~
I sacrificed for children~
And pets~
I went without~
Lived with illness~
Uncertainty~
No one would hear~
No one would listen.
I’ll wait~
You lied and deceived~
I went about~
To only give when I couldn’t~
A burden to others~
You made me hurt, oppressed~
You rogue~
You louse!
I’ll wait~
You plotted and schemed~
I allowed you to alienate me~
My precious gems lost temporarily~
And how you wounded not just I~
But also a child of Thee.
I’ll wait~
While you dole out pittance to them~
I pay for your ruthlessness~
Your ignorant stubbornness~
You’ll be sorry in the future~
You will know punishment~
Your salvation will be cut~
Slowly sutured!
I’ll wait~
To the bitter end~
Than I might come back on you~
Or leave to judgment~
From the Lord~
I take no pleasure~
Or solace~
On what He will~
To you afford.
I’ll wait.
