I'm Done

Updated on July 15, 2014
Source

I'm done.
I'm scared of lonely
and I'm curious to see,
what we might become.

Don't throw your entire
personalty, hopes, and dreams
to me at once.
Just come.

Dress as you are
and do what u feel
cause I'm hopeless
and you're a pill.

I'm done.
I don't wanna be wrong,
but my heart's lied before.
I can't trust my gut,
but I've never trusted boys.

Don't throw your entire
paranoia script at me.
I'm brave in my own way.
No one's standing in my way.
I hate when you stare in my face,
tell me I'm pretty, and don't care what I say.

Dress as you are.
There's no crowd to impress.
I'm a beast to many,
but you're my friend.

I'm done
with strange situationships
and spreading myself thin.
I gave so much to them.
There are pieces of me
all over the fucking city!
Good boys never could tempt me.

A thug stole my heart,
a criminal kissed my lips,
a liar gave me a ring,
I was a maniac for a lunatic,
and clueless for one who gambled and shit.
A thief held me hostage,
a hasbeen gave me affection,
and then he stopped it.

I'm done
with all of the surreal.
I feel unreal.
I'm sick of playing cool
and not saying how I feel.
Do you wanna know the truth?
I can't get enough of you.
Why do I refuse
to put the moon
above you?
It's simple
You thrill me.

I'm done.
I can't be true
to another man.

Life teaches us all in different ways.

You express one way in your poetry quite beautifully. Loving thoughts.

This is a beautiful poem because it is so open in its truth. I appreciate how you can turn your past experiences into something as beautiful as this poem. I wish you well in the future, and that you find the love of your life who you are willing to commit to and vice versa, and with whom you can grown old together. You sound like a very feeling type of person, I think you would make a loving mother and spouse. I'm sending you positive thoughts and prayers.

It is a wonderful poem and an apt comment on the guys taking brazen pride in being too virtuous, too meditative and too out of the world. Well-written. Voted up.

These words are really speaking to me. It explains a lot of times when I felt like I couldn't get through to someone I really liked. I was looking to reach down on that deep level, but I guess by the time I got to her, she had to many let downs to have any real faith in me.

I disagree with saying that nice guys don't have as much excitement. Many nice guys are way more exciting than any criminal or thug. Many nice guys have been there, done that and have changed but haven't forgotten what it takes to excite and please you ladies. Nice guys believe in bonding mentally, emotionally and physically, being more respectful, romantic, gentle and conversational with sexual longevity! They don't care to act like dogs. Don't always believe that nice guys finish last either. A nice guy can give much more than unconditional love. Don't judge a book by its cover...

I was a maniac for a lunatic!!! Ha ha, I love it. I so... have been there, done that. Nice guys don't have the excitement of the criminal or the thug. But in the end the nice one will give you real, unconditional love. Poetry love here...voted awesome for... you are.

Your writing seems so sad and lost. Glad you are writing about it and hopefully teaching other women lessons. This would be a great lesson for a single lady in turmoil. I will show this to my single girlfriend looking for a man. GREAT LESSON!
