I'm Not a Gambling Man
Although I'm going to go ahead and admit something, hopefully not jinxing myself. I'm never lucky at any kind of gambling. This is why I've only been to Reno once and have never been to Las Vegas, and I don't even go to the casinos on the reservations/rancherias, not even the one where a bunch of my friends live and work. For some reason the dice don't like me. Tee hee hee.
This is why when Paradigm Search decided to offer up 25 bucks to the writer with the best article, I thought "Well maybe". But, with a big butt.
How was he going to choose a winner?
He said he was going to make it a toss up. He's assigned contestants a number and the Dow Jones numbers will decide the winner.
I'm not a gambler, like I said. But I'm still all in.
Isn't Writing About Fun Not Business
I enjoy writing. I hate to have a school marm or callous businessman ruin that for me. I enjoy writing. It puts me in a meditative state, makes me work my mind, makes me work my imagination and my skills. I don't want to be motivated by pleasing the editor or the judge in a contest. I'm pleasing myself...
Oops.
Maybe that's the wrong way to put it. Let's just say, it's all about loving it and doing it. Period.
