A mere reflection is in front of me.

Everyday, religiously

In my mirror, outlining

an Image of my outer-being.

Staring through a looking-glass,

I see a reflection from my past.

The person that I used to be

is standing adjacent to me.

The image in the mirror shows

a marred person, I used to know.

It makes me stop to analyze

how I'm perceived in your eyes

What reflections do you see,

when your eyes are directed at me?

What images do I reflect

that only your eyes can detect?

If you became my looking-glass,

will you recall all of my past?

Or will you show a different view

and take me on face value?

Will you reflect my inner-being

that now displays self-esteem?

Or will that reflection remain

an image, eternally stained?

I like this poem on reflections, its saying a great deal about the inner you, and even much more than your outward appearances.

Your sense of self is profound to me here, and I sense your in tuned with understanding the usage of words that mean something to you, which somehow is drawing the reader in deeper.

I do know that all appearances are deceiving and so great job on the reflection twist of how people see you through their own eyes, as if looking into yours is a mere reflection.

You see with your spirit & more than just your eyes, and that's my take on this awesome poem, I like the mirror too it fit perfectly. Voted up & also thanks for sharing with me on my hub.
