In Honor of My Father

Pursued by many companies, he is respected in his field.

Working on buildings and bridges, living monuments he yields.

With a portfolio so vast, it spans in many nations.

Building useful structures, starting with great foundations

Travel was always part of his professional endeavor,

But I always knew he would not be gone forever.

At home he helped the house, not afraid to use his hands,

Even helping every member achieve their future plans

He taught me all about geology by chiseling away

And inside his office you can see them on display

He taught me my work ethic and how I can succeed.

With this great example my success is guaranteed.

Trying to live up to his standard, I know I sometimes fail.

Instead of criticizing me, he’s there to hear my tale.

Always there to help me, even if I don’t deserve it

Still today I strive to make him proud and I can never quit.
