In a silly kind of mood

Updated on September 17, 2012

Cooling in the watery pool.

Roll around in the Sun!

Snuggle with a hot chocolate in winter.

Silly is as silly does.

I am in a silly kind of mood today,

no worries, strains or pains today.

No grown up chores, or pains or sores,

the silly kind of mood can play.

I run and play tig with the children,

run in the sun and roll on the grass,

it is too nice a day to be a grown up today.

I splash in water pools of bright blue latex,

playing in the ring of air, it cools us down in the suns glare.

I am thankful for the last days of summer,

for winter is coming, and fun will be over.

The time to cocoon away in the warm,

with hot chocolate and blankets and duvets forlorn.

So here is to those summer days, they are asleep for winter but will come again.

The winter is time to snuggle and cuddle, and when pent up energies become a struggle,

summer will come back again, and the silly kind of mood will prevail.

Just some Summer and Winter thoughts.

Thank you for your kind comment. We have been lucky to not have the damage of snow ( yet) in the UK, the rain has caused its own damage though.

I can picture the fun of playing with the children that you have painted with your words. Very good! And yes, winter is now here.

    Voted up and will share!

Thanks for this fun poem. Here in Southern California, winter is pretty much like summer except for the drops in temperature. Voting this Up and Interesting.

The weather does seem to be improving in the last week, yet the winds are getting up it seems to me. Never mind, we have to make the most., whatever the weather.

Thank you Billy. I am a bit of every personality I think.

After reading your hub it sent me off on a tangent and took the personality test, based on Carl Jung's theories.

Apparently I am a ENFP personality, so I will have to look in to that a bit further.

Thank you kindly for reading my hub.

    Ddraigcoach...

I do so love the 'silliness' that is summer. Here in Reno we have three lovely months of summer...followed by ten months of winter...yes...I understand that there is an extra month in my accounting...it's just that cold here...

Thanks for showing I am not alone in my lament for summer being over!

I knew this hub was a good idea, it is already bringing a cosy cuddle to people who need it.

If I could make it you Denise I would, but I am in the UK.

You will have to do with a virtual cup, *passes Denise a warm, frothy hot chocolate with squirty cream and grated chocolate on!*

    Get better soon.xx

Enjoyed. That hot chocolate looks good today-it is drizzly and damp here in North Carolina, USA. I have a head cold so that cup is a good idea, thanks!

Thank you Crescent. Not as substantial as some poetry, but it is not meant to be. Just a burst of reminding us what we feel in the warm sunny days, when the cold weather comes we will need it.x

Thank you for your compliment. Amazing weather we are having. I would love to stave off winter, but we all know it is coming.

So I will look forward to the nice things about winter, like cuddly blankets, hot chocolate, snuggles on the sofa with a good book.
