Inclement, Poem
A bitter old man
sits outside his house,
rocking back and forth with his
eyebrows tightly scrunched.
He shakes his finger and slowly
watches the world fall.
A poor desperate child
lies on a desolate street,
rocking back and forth with her
mouth open wide.
She cries her little eyes out and
watches the world fall.
A helpless grieving mother
stands on a gray street corner,
rocking back and forth with a
cardboard sign in her hand.
She waves down cars all day and
watches the world fall.
A selfish young poet
sits in her warm bedroom,
rocking back and forth with her
black pen swiftly writing.
She writes a meaningful poem but just
watches the world fall.
