Inside The Eyes

Updated on October 8, 2013

Guarded Castle

Inside the eyes there's a child hidden inside. All the fears, all years he's tried to hide. And he knows, if his heart he opens wide, tears will fall. And he'll see his worlds collide.

Seeking shelter within the walls that he creates. Never leaving his future up to fates. Every moment, he finds, he hesitates. Decisions pending. Schedules time and future dates.

Ponders meaning in every waking moment, as he dons each and every garment. His days he faces the overwhelming odds, as he moves over brambles and over sods.

Within his heart lie the keys to every door of a new life, and maybe so much more, awaiting him, but at times he cannot see. His view clouded, his dreams longing to be free.

To his music, he turns thoughts off like a switch. Taking pleasure to suit his every itch that life might not hit him so very hard. Turning to books, and little shards,

Of proven wisdom that sit upon a shelf. Giving advice on life, on love, on health Stifling words within that heart of his that could be leading to a life much better lived.
