...Inside the Seashell... Poetry by Carole Anzolletti
Into the shell
I whispered near
the Secret only
I could hear
The churning burning
The fire lit truth
The yearning earning
a place wrapped in youth
The strapped in stirrings
The trapped in lurings
All slowly whispered
Into the Shell
...
The Mermaids footfalls
upon unmarked halls
dug into cold sand dunes
where the shells lay with the moon
She picks up the white one
and hears my Secret unsung
She brings it out to sea
and saves it there, for me
...
I leave from the seashore
undone by human lore
unbalanced by it further more
heart murmur underscored
as I swim to the Center Sea
where the Mermaid waits for me
frozen in the Winter Wake
I pray the Siren my Soul to Take
down into the Icy waters
and become once more
one of Her Daughters
