Inspired by a Stranger (a Poem)
It was a traffic jam
and certainly my time to cram
for a test coming anon.
The police officer,
with so much time to spare,
flicks his arms in the air
blows his whistle, stops our lancer,
and tells us of a 10K
A rush of blood strikes my face.
Hyperventilating,
"I'm going to be late!"
For my test is approaching.
I glance around
There was no hope to be found
Until I saw her,
A racer chasing the stars.
She was beautiful.
In every aspect beautiful.
Purely beautiful...
A beautiful harmony she was
Slapping the ground,
Her feet were racing the wind
Chasing the future.
Aiming to win.
Her stride accelerates
Her speed escalates
A trickle of sweat
Gently runs down her face.
Her breasts heaving
Her arms swinging
Muscular and healthy
She was beautiful...
She was an image...
An image of determination
Inspiring me to this day.
When I run...I see her
Running, like a musical symphony.
Strong, determined, tenacious
Won't stop until the finish line
When I see her image, I realize
That I was inspired by a stranger...
