Into the Sun
One peered into the sun
as if to see the stars
And found the source of all
the quiet noise of light
As if to see the souls delight
but finding no one there
Seeking still the wind of love
in the belly of the globe
The orb revealed its content bare
and said the same of me
When I looked into the sun
to see what I could see
The fire was a burning
and it, almost touched me
I got too close and saw the thing
that I wanted to see
And yet again I strove to see
beyond what was to be
In future tense I came to see
a man forlorn and free
But seeking still the quiet me
the man beyond the tree
That calls the heart too still to be
into the sun not free
All is fair in love and war
but no one told me
So yet again I seek to see
into the sun that’s free
The want of life
the need to be
The suns soul and more
to need the mind in thee
Having seen the fire
scorching me
I saw the sun explode
within the thing
The mind and heart
escaped the song
Only to be free and far
away,…. from the sun
