Love, I Want to See You

Love ! you slither into our life !

Without feet, you move so swift,

Without eyes, you see all sharp,

Without heart, you beat too fast,

Lacking arms, you grasp hard,

Do you need a brain to think ?

Senses are stunned to feel you,

Still you turn surfeit of all luster.

Where do you live, tell me ?

I want to meet and talk to you,

And touch with my own hands,

How you enter in our hearts ?

And settle silent in our eyes,

Spread a subtle magic in the air,

And give tugs supple and firm,

Are you a guest or an intruder ?

Rainbow so awesome in the sky !

But you are not that rainbow,

Heaven is fragrance of flowers !

But you are not even the heaven,

Songs of birds cheer my heart,

You can't be birds and my heart,

Hilly roads snake into my soul,

You are not my soul nor the hills.

Hugs and embrace all I cherish,

Neither hugs nor embrace you are,

Dreams in sleep enchant me much,

You can't be those dreams too,

Rivers, springs and running waves,

I want to gaze them till eternity,

Serene breeze that touches soft,

It can't be you, and nor the touch.

Can you be a mere name ?

can you be a mere word ?

Can the mind be your bough ?

Can you touch when you arrive ?

I wonder you are not even light !

For nobody can't even see you !

I have to put aside everything,

You are love and be love only !

Love begins with learning to love ourselves. Only then can we truly love one another. When we find it impossible to love who we are then changes in our thinking are required. I love your beautiful poem. You write lovely poetry and I will share.

May peace and harmony go with you always.

Dear bro manatita, you speak a wonderFul language of love. Rumi, a great poet of love was an enlightened soul , and one can see glimpses of true love in his immortal verses. I love reading your wonderful comments as I do reading your poetry. Thanks for your constant support. I 'm pleased that you liked this poem.

This elusive Fellow, Love. This birthless and deathless one. "Both Light and Shadow, are the dance of Love" says Rumi. She touches are heads, and our Hearts cascade roses to the infinite ...and yet, we cannot touch Her, as She remains matchless, peerless and an eternal mystery ...

Always so good to read your thoughts Brother Harish. It's great knowing you. Excellent Hub!

Very lovely... with love it's hard to find the right words. I LOVE YOU is too simple so comparing it to things that shows us happiness, calmness, being and feeling complete is what we have to offer and compare. Well done!

Pierre, welcome to hubpages ! Your comments are so refreshing like gentle touches of a breeze ! Yes, love is a matter that is too daunting to be explained in words. I think this is the beauty of it. Subtlety is it's shining ornament and it will remain in our heart till we keep trying to feel it. Thanks, my dear friend for your visit and and your very elaborate and kind comments. I wish you all success here.

Love is one of those things that we [humans] know so much about we have no idea how to describe it. Walking is natural for us, but try to explain it step by step to someone and it proves more difficult. I like this poem because of its volume, and even though it seems to be all encompassing there is still so much more to be said. This poem allows your mind to wander. Great poem

How wonderful comments on love ! Dana, I agree with you in toto. Love makes even stones speak and deserts bring forth fantastic foliage. " Sometimes we are not even aware that it is there until it takes us by surprise". These words are so insightful. Thanks, my friend, for your visit, appreciating this poem and your very wise and brilliant comments.

Harishprasad. How beautiful and sweet were your words. Yes, love is life and laughter. Beautiful and painful. It creeps up on us unknowingly and plants itself in our hearts. Sometimes we are not even aware that it is there until it takes us by surprise. I agree with our friend Jodah, love is life because without it there is no meaning. Positively beautifully expressed. Voted up!

Love takes all by surprise and you describe it too a tee. It can be like a panda which hugs you sometimes or deserts you at other times. Thumbs up.

I just loved this and voted up in every category. And will share. Enigma is perfect for love is something we all understand yet none of us understand. It is as you say none of these things and yet it is all of these things. It is possible that that which we cannot see with love does not even exist. It is possible that without love we do not even exist. Of all of my world travels only love have I seen everywhere.

Here is something to ponder on this hub: the hub asks the questions as though innocent and naïve of love --- yet it has just spread love throughout the world. This is why I call love "the miracle".

Thank you my friend for bringing your light upon the hill so more can see it.

Harish, you are probably right, love may be above even life. We can love things that aren't living....such as writing and poetry. they can give us strength and purpose.

John, I'm delighted to receive the first comment from you. You are so right that love is reflected in our sweet gestures and affection shown to guys close to our hearts and sometimes to other streaks of humanity, beings and things. I have heard a story about King Pygmalion who fell in love with a statue of woman. Isn't it a bizarre aspect of love ? You say love is life but sometimes lifeless things and non-existing entities give us more strength, motivation, purpose of life and loftier values and so we seek love in them. I wanted to place love in a very exalted place, above all living and non-living things, hence this effort. Nonetheless, I am a big fan of you and your words are so precious to me. Thanks for taking time to read this poem and appreciating it and your beautiful comments.

Beautiful words Harishprasad. But I wonder is love only love? I feel love effects everything we do in our life or how we relate to others and the decisions we make. So really love is life. Voted up.
