It's Never To Late To Write

Updated on March 6, 2014

Are You Thinking What I'm Thinking ?

Well lets see

Check in at the desk please

Over there next to the big grandfather clock

Hi, name please?

So do you have an appointment?

No

I see

Well we really wish you had made an appointment

Look at the long line of people

All those people probably have an appointment

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm

A long pause

They will all have to wait a little longer while you fill out the proper paperwork

How do you think they feel ?

Well I am here now can't you make this one exception ?

You see I would want to but what if everyone came here without an appointment ?

How much more work would that be for me ?

The lines would be double

You come and go

After you leave here you forget all about me

I am here day after day doing the same thing

I listen to people like you who forgot to make an appointment

Never thought they needed to make an appointment

I have heard every excuse under the sun

So you think we should put a sign up

To let people know you have to make an appointment

Then if the sign was up would people read it ?

Would they say I didn't see the sign

Then we would have to get two signs

Then if you didn't read both the signs am I suppose to still let you go ?

It's not a big deal

If you let me finish my paperwork it will move the line along

Then the quicker the line goes the less you have to do

So if I let you go the line will move real fast

I don't think so

More people will come in because people will tell their friends there is no line and no need to make an appointment

Sorry you will have to come back after you make an appointment

I have to go to lunch

I have had such a long day

Wait

All you have to be is nice

Don't you think life is hard enough without adding more trouble

It's not my fault you wanted to be a writer ?

You should of got a job like mine

You should of thought about that before you started working ?

I knew exactly what I wanted to do when I was your age

I wanted to have a job to help people

So if you want to help people why don't you start here

I would if you have made an appointment

Now this could be your day at a writers office

Where you need to fill out the proper paperwork before you start writing

Then you can sit down with your latest idea for a story

Put all your ideas down on paper

Then write your heart out

Writing rough draft after rough draft until you get your writing just where you want it

Looking fine

Now we see if all your hard work pays off

Are you ready to share your talents with the world ?

But

Before we do that

I have one question for you ?

Do you have an appointment ?

Gypsy Rose Lee You are in your zone keep up the good work. After all your hard work give yourself praise for a job well done. Treat yourself to something special to keep your energy coming back again and again. I think it is amazing how we can look at a blank piece of paper and hours later see an interesting writing or story. That alone fills my mind with good thoughts. Thank you so much for sharing.

Lately thoughts just pop into my head and I have to start writing. After I'm done then I read it back to see what I've written and impress myself.

annart Your words are so thoughtful and kind.Bless you. I am all about smiles. To see one more smile means I am spending my time properly despite what many other people may have thought. It was a common theme among my friends and family that I am wasting my time and nobody wants to read what I have to say. Go out and make it a Great day.

This is such fun and a brilliant idea. I've just visited Romeos Quill and said how amazed I am at the variety of ideas for just one theme, let alone all the rest and I'm saying the same to you. Well done!

It made me smile and it made me glad I don't have to queue up or make an appointment. Enjoy the rest of your weekend! Ann

Dream On, I like this. I am glad I don't have to make an appointment to write. I never know hen the urge will hit. If I had to do it at a certain time I don't think I could. This was a great idea for a hub. Voted up.

DDE I thought how lucky we are to write anywhere at anytime. What happens if all our work had to be done in an office and only after we applied for the job and got through the long paperwork we had to fill out of all the reasons why we love to write. Our goals and dreams. Listing all our motivations and inspirations . Then and only then we would be allowed to write.Thank you for reading and commenting . I like to compare my writing to other jobs where you have to go for an interview and fill out your application for the job. So before I write I list so many reasons why I make the time to write wherever I am whenever I can . My own personal push in the butt. Have a great day.
