One Perspective of Time: i am A Poem
It's coming and going so quickly,
most of which I do not see.
Seconds to minutes to weeks to years,
lights and sounds...and energy.
The images of life were taught and learned,
to eyes too young to need
what was that thing I felt inside
a whooshing at the sound of speed?
Am I really here, do I really dream?
How do I mark this passing?
I come, I go, I spin around
and I got it just for asking.
It's time in part, and time is free.
I know there's more than flesh
I move, I sing, I am, I be
I'm bathed in gratefulness.
I know there's more to time on earth
It's something very bright
so I stand and wait and wait in line
For reflections of the light.
If I stand here long enough I think
I'll catch a glimpse to see,
If I stand here long enough I'll find
That part of time...that's me!
