It's Not The Sea But Us Who Are The Tide - Poem by Cathy Nerujen
This poem is new for me. I wrote this as I was editing a photo in Adobe Photoshop for my lady in the picture - Fehl Dungo. This is the first time I used graphic software to write a poem while editing a photo. It was a very interesting experience. Creating words inside picture or art editing software is so refreshing, and seems to unlock more inspiring words than usual. I have since created other poetry using Xara software, as it is easier to use and to work on my creative endeavors.
I think art and photo work and poetry can go together. Take the tiny survey at the end of my hub, let me know if you have created written words or works in graphic software.
It's Not the Sea But Us Who Are The Tide
Oh - to be on the warmest
nicest beach with you -
I want to sip warm mochas in your smiles -
I want to feel what it is to be so loved by you -
I want to hold your hand and walk these miles -
That few can know the love we two -
we share together -
will never stop our hearts and souls entwine so strong -
your love it is a beacon, so my soul can find its way -
and we can share our kisses all night long -
I’ve come to see you more
than just my lover now -
these past few years have opened fearless doors for us -
much more than currents, oceans, moon or tide, my love -
we sail here in this boat of Hope and Trust -
Tonight these embers of my love -
they will not fade away -
instead they glow so much inside my life -
your firefly kisses, hands and softest loving eyes -
belong to She who’ll one day Be My Wife -
I tell you now - just as I told you
countless times before -
how life is nothing - till you’re by my side -
how each and every day I cherish you so much -
It’s not the sea, but us who are the tide -
