Leslie is an author who previously released her first book Friendly Ties. She is in the process of her second book Soul Ties.

It's OK not to be Ok

A smile on my face

but screaming in my head.

My outside presence happy

but inside filled with dread.

I'm ok.

Stresses and worries

controlling my life.

Smiling still even

through pains knife.

I'm ok.

You can't do that

you'll amount to nothing.

Coming from strangers

isn't that something.

I'm ok.

Asking for help

but no volunteers.

Smiling still even

through the tears.

I'm ok.

Always strong is

what they say.

Smiling still even

on the bad days.

I'm ok.

Feeling weak but

still standing tall.

Getting ready to crumble

getting ready to fall.

I'm ok.

Tears override the

smile in your eyes.

Falling to your knees

as the strength dies.

I'm not ok.

Wonderful poetry with a very important message. Just because someone appears ok, doesn't mean they really are. Voted up.
