- How to Write
It's not about me, it is all about Him
What can I do to glorify God? I’ve been spinning my wheels thinking of ways to drive traffic to my website. What articles should I write? What will bring in the best results? All this time failing to see that what really matters, it’s not about me, it’s all about Him.
It's not about Me
I know when I’m on to something, I’ll get distracted. When the writing is flowing and my attention gets pulled away. It could be a phone call, a loud noise, or even a sneeze; I realize I’m getting hit. Then I know this is it. This is what I should be writing about. The words come faster than I can put them in my keyboard. The misspellings are abound, I can’t back up now, I’ll check it later.
The words are flowing; I’m a master of words. No wait, it’s not about me, it’s all about Him. I’ll let the words flow from the Holy Spirit to the paper. His hands guide mine. His voice speaks through me. It’s not about me, it’s to glorify Him.
This is the reason I do what I do. This is why I write. I have a message, seems simple enough but it matters. It’s important enough to cause me to distress. It’s imperial enough to make me wander off the page. It’s simple enough that I don’t need to work hard at it. It’s ideal enough that everyone can use it. It’s figuratively enough that it matters. And it loves enough that God wants to use me.
I’ll listen to the Master. I’ll let His words be my words. If I fail, it’s so that I can get back up again. I’m learning in the process. It will take time, but if I keep going, He will use me to show the world His great love. He continues to show His grace and beauty. He loves no matter what.
To make a difference
My calling has always been to make a difference. I want to change things. I realize I cannot change the world, but I can change my mind.
I dream of that day when the world will be at peace. I long for the day I am reunited with my loved ones. I desire the day, when all my brothers and sisters are living righteously.
I keep plugging away at this keyboard, hoping one day my work will get noticed. Dreaming of the day when love calls out and changes the heart of the wicked.
Beautifying existence of memories found in the back of my mind, I write. I shape the words into pictures. I love what I do but I remember, it’s not about me, it’s all about Him.
God works in mysterious ways. This may not be the way I approach it, but He is showing me that He is still there. He cares enough. He is teaching me new ideas. He loves me in spite of everything. For it’s not about me, it’s all about Him.
