I've Forsake mother and father to follow JESUS

Updated on October 15, 2013

Jesus said forsake your mother and father

and follow me, and yes of course that’s

what I’ve done and it surely benefitted me.

For you see I am the only Christian

In my immediate family.

Though they do not walk in the light

with me, God has given me strength

to picked up my cross and follow His

only begotten Son a long time ago

I must bare all my trials and burdens.

For I know for Jesus we must suffer.

There’s no better friend than Jesus

and, only when you have a through

relationship with him deep inside your

heart. I know even though the storms

comes and the sea rages.

He is standing right beside.

He will never leave me or forsake me.

He hears my every prayer and answers

accordingly.

Jesus promise to take me up and yes

He sure did. I am so glad and

happy that Jesus has set me free

from this world of sin.

He’s everything to me , he protects

and guide me as I go along life’s journey.

He feeds and clothe me, and I have been

blessed so abundantly.

I know without Jesus Christ I am nothing

In this world, I feel his love and warm touch

Daily that runs through my heart endlessly. I know

as long as I continue to follow him all will be

well and I’d be set free for eternity.

Beautiful words and pictures Jo. I totally agree and it is something many don't see; Jesus comes first and His ways. Sometimes he may have to take the place of a whole family as in your case, but you know you have that beautiful brother waiting on you. That has to feel good.

God bless you Jo! Yes, He is number one above all others. Thank you for sharing here. He is with you always, to the very end of the ages.

      Hugs and love,

      Faith Reaper

It must be hard sometimes to be the only Christian in your immediate family because family is important; I can understand that it's like your cross to carry. But I also understand that sometimes we have no choice in life and we have to find our own path just for sanity.... I have been there!

Thank you for sharing your beautiful words! Great choice of pictures as well! Take good care of yourself.... and have a beautiful day!

It takes courage to walk a different path than that of your family. This lovely poem shows the benefits of such courage and independence. Beautifully wirtten.

Yeah Kidscraft you know sometimes that devil comes to depress us and stress us to make us feel and think things we ought not to about God. I believe God he is forgiving , loving and plenteous in mercy. Thanks for coming by :)

It's not easy to forsake mother and father, but it is so true that when that happens, the Lord will take you up and be your family. However, we can still keep praying for our earthly family and sometimes even keep a good relationship with them. Perhaps some day, through our example and prayers they will come to share the joy of knowing Jesus, too.
