I've Lived This Life A Thousand Times
I’ve lived this life a thousand times
I’ve seen your face
I’ve shaken hands with my prince charming in party lines
I’ve liken you to silky sheets
I’ve reached for you in the ghostly night
I’ve touched the shoulder of who I thought were you
The poundings of my heart I could hear in my ear
To my surprise it was just another stranger’s face
I’ve lived this life a thousand times
I wandered through the crowd in my mind trying to search you out
I heard music, I saw dance
A little mingle by chance just to get to know you
I wished for the rain on that night
That kind of rain that would taste like you
Oh that night,
The night your sweet sweat stained my pillow
That night you left me longing for more
I’ve lived this life a thousand times
My prince charming just might have been you…….
I wanted nothing of heart to do with this again
I’m not speaking of love my dear friend
Love has just been a blanket in the wind
You see my friend ….
I’ve lived this life a thousand times
Longing and wishing to see you;
And there you were right before my face a charming prince indeed.
Than again I've lived this life a thousand times and know that this prince
will never be mine
