Jerusalem- A Poetic Piece
Jerusalem
I am blessed to say I have traveled overseas several times, and at such a young age. I have been to Jerusalem and visited the golden Dome, which we know as "Qubit il Sahkra" (or the Dome of the Rock). Coming from a fairly traditional Palestinian family, prayer has always played a part in my upbringing. However, nothing can quite compare to the feeling that rushes over you when you step foot into the sacred grounds of Jerusalem. It is so peaceful and serene. It gives off a feeling of safety, to just release all of your worries and let comfort wash over you.

Beauty is a just a word, until it is defined
Prayer is only a thought, until you get it into your mind
Visit the giant Gold Dome, and you will see
What you thought was just a site, has now become a reality
Ladies wrap a scarf gently around your head, and walk towards the door
For once you are inside the Dome, pain you will feel no more
Never have I witnessed this, truly a site so rare
Jerusalem is amazing, beauty is a word that cannot compare
I hope to one day revisit this unbelievable location and to introduce my child to its tranquility. Until then, I will keep it in my heart.
