Joie de vivre

Updated on September 10, 2015

The Ancient Egyptians saw Joy as a sacred responsibility. They believed that upon their death, the God Osiris would ask them two questions: "Did you bring Joy?" and "Did you find Joy?" Those who answered `yes' could continue their journey into the afterlife.

Did I find joy?

I found joy:

in the everyday things we did together.

in our children.

in dancing with you.

in your support.

in your respect.

in sitting quietly with you.

in laughing with you.

in your smile.

in your tenderness.

in your strength.

in your comfort.

in my memories.

even in the sadness of caring for you.

especially in your love.

Did I bring joy?

Your love and trust told me I did.

Did we find joy? Yes,

In our children

In each day

In each other

In our friends

In our marriage

In serving others

Did we bring joy? Yes,

When we served others

When we supported each other

When we loved each other

When we loved others

When we comforted each other

Do I have joy?

In my memories!!!!!

Joy in our lives is vital, and we can find it in the love of our Heavenly Father.

Very cool. I like it a whole lot. Hey what joy filled memories can we make today for tomorrow?
