The pretty white Lilly, that waltzed so gay,

Enhanced her loveliness in every way.

Spoke only in silence with little to say,

Yet bedecked or adorned her garments lay.

She danced with the zephyrs beneath the trees,

Free; unassuming; vibrantly at ease.

“Worry?” Said the Lilly, ‘bout the ‘morrow’s ‘keep?’

I toil not; never sow, and do not reap.

But the Master nourishes; clothes me, while,

I inhale the cool air and swing with style.

Not a tear or strife; not any sorrow,

I radiantly smile, why fear tomorrow?”

I urge that you end the wearisome stress,

Just live in the moment; He’ll do the rest.

-Manatita, The Lantern Carrier. Copyrighted. 3Rd November, 2015.

Thank you, Audrey. Yes, we can only bring the past into the present from where we are, and the future is determined by our current actions - not by living in it - but by doing and becoming. My poem about letting go of past entanglements, deals with this in a different way. Thank you so much for your support.

Unless we live in the moment we really aren't living at all. I've returned to this beautiful poem. I love your message. Thank you Manatita44.

It seems that if we are living fully in the moment, we will be living all the "nows" of our future fully. It's the path to a better way to live.

Thank you, Vishnu, your name itself will help. Have Faith! I welcome and thank you here. So good to see you. Do not push or pull.

"My Love of God has no need of Heaven's Bliss, for my Love of God itself, is the Highest Bliss." - Sri Chinmoy.

Live in this world, as if you were always going to inhabit it. Live in the inner world, as though you were going there tomorrow. (Author unknown)

I really care that you came, and I'm very happy. Hari Om!

My gratitude for getting "Present" poetry connected with me.Budhist thoughts say there are 3000 realms in a moment,so the man criss-crosses in that jungle.Living in and for the moment is best.

So far not been successful. This poem will yet again inspire!

      Many regards to you both!

Beautiful poem and a lovely tribute to a wonderful fellow hubber!

One cannot miss the very important and inspiring message as well.

It is the moment which is important and we must make the most of it . We must not waste it by living in the past and trying to predict the future. Thank you for sharing.

Ha ha. There are people who I have written poems for, who have never seen theirs. I believe that you have seen yours, right?

I appreciate your loving input. Practically all my poetry are filled with inspirational messages. I try to nudge, but it is also important to do this in a loving way. In Joy and Light. -manatita

Manatita, this is awesome. Live for the moment and live it as if it's your last. We don't want to "go out" with regrets on our backs. We don't know if we have a tomorrow, let alone what it'll bring. Live in the moment.

However, that said.... life's monetary monkeys keep us doing other than what we prefer.

Manatita, I watched a movie today in which the feature character emphasized these same words in her speech: "Live in the moment." Thanks for relaying the message which is for Hari as well as for others.

Living the moment is a timeless message. thank you so much manatita for dedication. I believe in your message.

      Being worried of future,

      is such waste of past,

      if one is still ignorant,

of ones acts in the present.
