Just a Casual Day
Once upon a time there was a boy
eager to learn and always with a smile
Confidence he has in his voice
Determination clothed him like his skin
Nothing seemed distracting enough to stray his ways
Until one autumn afternoon. At a coffee shop
He sat reading. He took his eyes off the page
For a few seconds when he spotted her few yards away.
Dressed in blue jeans and grey converse.
Red hair, freckled face, a scar above her right brow.
Strolling her usual route to her abode
in her worn, yet great condition, grey coat.
He couldn't help his curiosity
He placed his book face down and rose to the opportunity.
Bold move even for himself, he thought.
Slightly warm afternoon with partial clouds,
he managed to utter "hello" as his voice trembled.
She stopped and noticed his bashfulness as his eyes aimed
for the sidewalk. Little did he know she admired his courage
as she is bashful herself. A smile flashed across her face.
As he continued his staring contest with the concrete,
she stepped beside him and said, "We will meet again."
She scurried away in excitement. He smiled with hopeful heart.
Little did he know that she'd seen him before.
