Just a Friendly Relationship
Just Friends
A woman with a remote look
Home in a zone of her own.
Her body pregnant with words;
Speaks to me in tongues.
I've learned to float by instinct.
We balance our shadows;
Visit each other in dreams.
I've reasoned it out beyond my reach,
What's happened
As we race to reason.
Something has become more than it is
And there isn't any way
To put what we feel into words
When you want to say something
That is good and beautiful
Even though you may not
Understand exactly what.
In the vastness of what's left to discover and know,
We are left
Looking for meaning
That is hidden there.
Talking about strong and complicated feelings
Can change you and add to
What you know and are.
Inclinations move
From one thing to another
In unexpected ways
The way dreams do
Free of worries and constraints.
Friends don't have to be anything else;
Just friends.
