LIKE THE ROCK

I stand alone~

Like the rock stuck in the stream~

All the water rushes by~

But never does the water take!

I sit alone~

I want to go to the party~

I want to be taken there~

I want to be invited~

I want to be loved with care.

I lay alone~

Like the daisy rooted in the soil deep~

The breeze blows by~

But never takes!

I am alone~

I want you to notice me~

The way the Good LORD created me~

I want to be cherished~

I am lovely as I was made to be.

I eat alone~

Like the tree with branches naked high~

When the snow falls fresh and soft~

Only leaving the remainder in its wake~

I have been left aloft.

I talk alone~

I want to go to the affair~

Yes I am quiet~

I do not like to gossip~

Yet I have things I can contribute and share.

I weep alone~

Like the sun who shines so bright~

The moon doth move~

Out of sight!

I dance alone~

I want to dance with you all~

I want to twirl like I belong~

Have you thought of my being~

Remember me as I stand alone.

I am alone~

Like our GOD who is always there~

People trash~

When not aware.

I think alone~

I want to be seen~

I need to be heard~

I do exist~

Can’t you take the time to rescue me like the~

Innocent injured bird you could accept?

I cry alone~

Like the child no one sees~

Neighbors look the other way~

A child left behind and not in play!

I run alone~

I want to go with you~

I want to be apart of the fun~

I want you to honestly like me~

I do not want to always play catch up as I run.

I am alone~

Like the sensitive loveing soul~

People never notice~

This is truly told.

I am alone~

Won’t you wait for me? ~

Can I come? ~

Won’t you include me? ~

Can’t you look outside yourself with pure love?

I mourn alone.

This is beautiful in its sadness. I lived this way for many years, I know the loneliness all too well. BTW: you have a typo, I believe in the third verse with the picture of the elderly woman. It says,"I am quite" but I think you meant, "I am quiet."

I particularly liked the picture of the burro, who appeared to be stubbornly alone, as if you can't make him not be alone if he wants to be that way.
