Let us pray : A Poem about my sister who passed away from Cancer

Updated on August 6, 2012

As you journey into outer space,

May the lord's angels help you

find your way.

And the prayers your family and

friends, may shine up on you and

help keep you safe.

And as you pass through heaven's

gates, and you see family and friends

who went before you, waiting there to

greet your grand entrance into heaven.

As you head to the internal light and God's

love, holy and right. I want to 'Thank you'

the lord for blessing my life with your life

To my sister who is now in heaven, " Thank

you" for your time and loving care, see you

when I get there.

I will love you and miss you always sister.

Your big brother

My younger sister lost her life to breast cancer on May 8, 2008. She was a blessing to all who had the opportunity to know her and meet her. She was a mentor to her students, friends and family. When she found out about her life threatening disease, she fought to the end and with a smile on her face. We will miss our beloved sister, daughter and friend; but one day we will meet again. Mari was our world so young, so alive and much more she had to fulfill; but God had another plan. Each year we celebrate her life, remembering the happiness, joy and smiles she brought all of us while she was here on Earth with all of us.

Thanking my sister for her time and compassion was solely written with Mari in mind.

Eric.....This poem has touched me deeply. I too, lost my sister, my only sibling, to cancer. As difficult as it is for me to accept, it's been 10 years, but so often, feels like yesterday. Her memory is so vivid and alive, for me.

I understand and can feel for every emotion you share here. This is simply a lovely and heartfelt tribute to your precious sister.....UP++

Beautiful poem Eric ... my sister and I lost our father to cancer approximately four years ago. It is such a blessing to know, through your heartfelt poem, that your sister battled until the end with grace and beauty. I am sure that she is looking down from heaven smiling down on you. Thanks for sharing.
