Letter to America
From us to you
Dear America,
I want you to sleep in peace tonight.
I have your back, I'm ready to fight.
Through the heat, the dirt, dust and sand.
I will protect your rights and our land.
Take your freedom and use it well.
For you to live, I will go through hell.
This is a job, I have volunteered to do.
For all of America, The Red, White, and Blue.
I am away from home, but doing fine.
As I stand here on the front line.
I look around me and all I see.
Are other soldiers dressed like me.
A tank for my bed, as I look to the sky.
America lay your head down, close your eyes.
I will still be on watch, as you wake in the morn.
A little tired, a little ragged, wearing the same uniform.
Remember us soldiers as you go about your day.
We fight for your rights, it's the American way.
Please say a prayer for us for what we do.
The ultimate sacrifice, willing to die for you.
Sincerely yours in camouflage,
An American Soldier
