Life Is What We Do At The Moment
Think Again
There was a lady who I don't even know her name
She walks with a cane
She struggles to walk and has trouble when she talks
Has a heart of gold and her children are all old
Their photos she carries with her where ever she goes
She smiles even though her body aches
Appreciates others who help her each day
She is proud she is still independent and has her wits about her
Years have passed and she is the last of her family
Proud as she can be to see the world and all its technology
Fast paced and in a rush
She sometimes gets pushed and hushed
Remembering when she was young
Alive and well
She could do anything and would give you a run for your money
They called her the little energizer bunny
Only if you knew
Then you would not be so quick to judge
The wonderful lady that is in the body of all of us
We just don't want to admit it
We like to think we will always stay young and pretty
Handsome and quick
Truth is we all will get old
But the beauty is loving each person as ourselves
Stop and wait a few minutes two let her walk in front
Help her lift those bundles she attempts to carry
Hold her hand when she is not steady
Say hello and it is alright if she takes her time
Your heart is mine
