Our Life is Like a Butterfly

Updated on April 20, 2017

A winged creature of grace and beauty is she,

such a beautiful butterfly.

From flower to flower, as she works so hard,

Her, there in the yard, I spy,

I cannot help in thinking, of all consideration,

How alike we each must be.

How our daily lives are so much the same,

This of every day that we see.

How fragile is this world, all the creatures in it,

The flora and fauna to be.

We each must make our every day to count,

How blessed if we fly so free.

Nectar that the working winged one collects,

Spread one flower to the next.

As each of us, all gives life our own very best,

We often get what each expects.

      Nice!

How blessed if we fly so free - really blessed! So rare to be really free, constant distractions not allowing us to be. Free like a bird, free like a tree, always peaceful, always sane, never hateful, free of detachment chain.

What beautiful images and inspirational words, whonu. It reminds me of a poem I once wrote long ago called "Butterfly Upon a Flower."

"How blessed if we fly so free." I doubt that I will ever see a butterfly and not think of this poem. An absolute view of our purpose.

Wouldn't it be cool to fly freely, go where we please and enjoy the fresh air from a different perspective?
