Limpopo Farmland Poem

Updated on April 13, 2011

Poem 6: Limpopo Farmland

Cows graze to the left

Brown, black, and spotted

Finding shade among trees

Living off tall grass below

Nearby bright yellow sunflowers

Reaching towards afternoon sun

Breaking the green monotony

Wheat grows on right

Planted amongst native vegetation

Separated from cows by highway

Written on April 1, 2006 at 11:23 during drive from Johannesburg to Lajuma Mountain

6th poem in a series of 26 written on my 2006 trip to South Africa

Limpopo Province
