I once dreamt that I had a cloth
to put beneath your feet.
To protect you from the gravel
of the rigid, cracked concrete.
I would carry you across the sea
to view the waterfalls
and find a cave to go inside
and explore the darkened walls.
We can take a ride on the rainbow
and search for the pot of gold
find the leprechaun that owns it
and hear the stories once untold.
We can catch the drops of crimson
from the sunset and the stars
use the blades of grass as swords
just to talk about our scars.
I'd make the London bridge into a
giant swing so you can say
you saw the world
sitting on a string.
I'd curl your hair and pin it up
like Juliet and top it with a vale
then grab the prince from your wish
to complete your fairy tale.
With all the freshest roses
I would walk you down the aisle
Hand in hand to give you away
but smiling all the while.
Even though your arch of peace
was actually Heaven's gate
I'll let you go and gladly know
I don't have long to wait.
Together again we can laugh
while brushing each others wings
catch up on everything I've missed
and do all the girlie things.
Until then you can splash in my tears
and pretend that they are streams
For I know that everynight
you will always be wading in my dreams.
