Listen when you Hear

Updated on March 14, 2016

Poetry is the food of the soul. It's my greatest contribution to the world and an area I can always grow.

Alas, for there is nothing left but sound

To listen, the possibility quite elementary

Yet to hear, now that perplexes many minds

When processing sounds and interpretations

So simplistic in a charming and morose way

For most have been weaned on bleakness

Where neutrality guides a course in perception

And once heard, the sound is discarded forever

To ascertain the collective misconception

Open you mind and step blindly into experience

Give purchase to what was once unseen

Or perhaps unheard, as these verses proclaim

When you’ve ceased listening to the words

And started hearing their deeper meanings

A path emerges to a deeper contemplation

One anchored firmly once and for all

Only then can you start your journey

As you shall be at peace in enlightenment

Yes, I like this idea. Ingenious. The ancient books do mention the senses with many stories to tell. Hari Om!

Wow, a nice response from so many people. I've been thinking more and more about how much many people take our senses and what value they really bring to us as human beings. This is the first of a series I plan to write on each sense.

Lovely Poem and the pictures are great. Sound is the substance of creation.
