Little Blue Zoo
Could this earth be the same, just as any zoo,
made up of all the creatures, like me and you,
Taken from every ocean, if was our early home,
upon the earth to walk all about, then to roam?
Might we have been modeled after one another,
making us all everyone's sister and our brother?
Could a tiniest one-celled critter be our own blood,
Remnants left on the beach after that old flood?
Might our own care-takers so watch over us each,
keeping us in the finest shape, their goals to reach?
Perhaps some came from planets, afar, elsewhere,
Reaching Earth, giving us birth, with time to spare.
Could this place be but a special vacation spot to see,
While they're flying about this planet, all so carefree?
Maybe some visitors would just like to take this view,
of what kind of creatures we are, things we like to do.
Just remember our questioning, when visiting any zoo,
There just may be someone watching us, me and you.
Giving us a banana, then scratching hairs on our head,
Laughing at our antics we've made, what we have said.
When we all thought we were on top of that old chain,
All along, were near the bottom, now it seems so plain!
Go ahead, munch your candy, sip your milkshake, too,
They'll all just laugh at us, because we are in their zoo!
