Little girl dreams

Dreaming

little girl dreams

wedding dresses

cakes

and lollipops

handsome men in suits

a prince

her teddy bear

turmoil and fantasy

growing from a bud

to a blossoming

beautiful rose

lost in thought

of dances

kissing

and, “tag you're it”

mom and dad

embracing educing

strange emotions

stirring a flood

of wonderment

like dad’s cologne

and Billy’s blue eyes

soon wafting away

on an aromatic rainbow

of bubble gum machines

new plastic toys

and a plump little baby

cooing in her stroller

Beautiful, Wayne! "Wafting away on an aromatic rainbow" - wow! What a great line! You brought so many memories back from my own childhood and then my daughter's... thank you for the journey. :)

Thank you Beth. Of course I was thinking about all my girls. I guess raising three of them gives me an inkling of what goes through their minds. Then again, I still don't think I have a clue! : )

Children's lives flash before our eyes. I've not yet been blessed with grandchildren, but I can just imagine the wonder you see as they grow. My son is 21 today and I find myself reliving the years leading up to now. There's no greater love than that of your children (and their children).

I saw my two little girls growing up to fine ladies, although without the love of their daddy in their lives. Still, I am proud of them no matter what they do. But I sure remember the days of their youth and all the dreams little girls have, dreaming of their prince as they hold their Teddy's close to their little hearts in bed. Oh I so miss them and cherish the memories close to my own heart. Beautiful poem my friend, I felt every word.

Vincent, I appreciate you stopping by and leaving your kind thoughts. I can't begin to say that I can relate to what you are going through with your children, but I can always sense from your words the deep love you have for them. Time will tell out my friend. Keep it in your heart, and karma will recognize the sincere unselfishness.

Aww~this is so precious Wayne, and brought me back to my way of thinking when I was a young girl. It's funny how certain memories stick with you, like that first boy I thought was soooo cute. I remember what he looked like, smelled like and what winter coat he was wearing. Thanks for bringing me back.

Wayne, what a beautiful paean to the beauty and innocence of your granddaughter, and, as you say - all your daughters!

My daughter has five daughters ranging from 13 to 37 and among them, they have 3 daughters and 4 sons ranging in age from 7 months to 18 years. My son has a daughter and a son in their early 30s and between them, they have 3 daughters and 2 sons, all under 10. Amazing how the beat goes on. One looks at one's progeny and wonders, 'How can it be?', followed by, 'I must have done SOMETHING right!' Life is such a miracle!

Thank you for sharing these tender, precious feelings and perceptions!

Hmmmm is an old comment meaning this poem causes a playful feeling, however I shall not and remain brief . . . Wayne, good to see you and a most profound poem of energy, feelings, and without oddity reality. Does one say a sleeping giant is awakened and just who is towering is the question.

To know the answer one only has to click at the title, read not with haste, yet more so with a bit of pondering. Not from a afar either, one only has to look upon the neighboring lands or close to home to discover . . .

      have a great day Wayne . . . one smile at a time . . .
