Locked Keys

Updated on June 27, 2012

If i fixed my mind
Could i draw your attention to it?
As i can hear you grinding your teeth
From all of the way down the hall
The momentary captivity
If you'd stop to breathe
And find whoever locked your key
To brake away
Fight to believe
Wipe the tears off your sleeve
Enslaving what you wish to free
Splitting hairs
Splitting seconds
Bring an answer to the question
That you see in your reflection
as the walls are caving in
With a sense of satisfaction,
the sealing takes flight
The sun changes direction
You dove under the covers for protection
Mirrors shatter
But your still awake
Hiding from your last mistake
Out of conscience
Theirs no selection
You cannot hide from your own reflection
Emotion donation
Fighting past irritation
Careless estimation
Do you pretend?
Hiding behind your projections
Walking in the same direction
Leaving your destination
Forgetting your name
Forgetting your reflection
Following your footsteps
Your hand unfolds
And your holding your locked key
You look to the sky,
That flows like the sea
Your heart drops to your knees
You hadn't wondered
Just where you'll be
You raise it up higher
And the sun reflects off your locked key
