Look At Me With Eyes That Are Free

Updated on November 4, 2012
Source

Look at me with eyes that are free from hate.

I have done nothing to you

Yet I receive your scorn.

I am the target of your pain;

Why do you hate?

Who taught you that everyone must be the same?

In your actions you reject the teachings that you hold in esteem;

You use the words to create a blanket of hypocrisy.

Your life must be filled with sadness.

Look at me with eyes that are free from jealousy.

I made choices that you did not make

Though you had the same opportunities.

What is it about me that you envy?

Perhaps I can try to help you understand

That you can't fit people into your own categories.

You do not have that power.

And you do not have power over me.

Instead look at me with eyes that are free

To see beauty and not judge

To see I am human

And we are one.

      Beautiful.It carries a message within to all men to look at women as equal

      partners without holding any grudge,prejudgments,jealousy and desire for the dominance.I voted up.

      Beautiful poem and beautiful painting. If everyone had adapted to a mindset like this, the world would be a better place.

      Thank you. I too wish we could all look at others with eyes that are free.

      I'm speechless...so powerful and heartfelt. It's more or less the voice of every heart, an experience every soul must have encountered once in their life. I wish all of us see others from above the eyes of our ego... from the eyes of their Creator who has made them all equal, and beautiful!

      You are 100% correct to say that we see things through the eyes of our ego. I think people with fragile egos are more prone to judge and hate others as a form of self-preservation. When we begin to rise above our egos we can begin to see others the way God intended.

      That you can't fit people into your own categories.

      You do not have that power.

      And you do not have power over me.

      Great words and I now look forward to many more.

      Eddy.
