Lost in Perfection

Lost in Perfection

A perfect home we seek
Grapple with the chaos
Of our cravings and whims
Spend life perfecting things.

A perfect life we seek
Entangle with the snares
Of the world and tempests
Spend life chasing dreams.

A perfect shape we seek
Lose track of the whirls
Of the heart and wild surges
Spend life drawing hopes.

A perfect smile we seek
Forget crinkles of pleasure
On the face and dulcet lids
Spend life enacting cheers.

A perfect action we seek
Ignore toils of dedication
Of the souls and hard sweat
Spend life displaying feats.

A perfect spouse we seek
Forsake gestures of love
Of the beloved and lithe gait
Spend life replicating bonds.

A perfect knowledge we seek
Flock to sacred abodes
Of the divine and chant names
Spend life pursuing mirages.

A perfect walk we seek
Reflect pride of possession
Of name and ephemeral fame
Spend life squatting on shines.

A perfect speech we seek
Spurn words of strangers
In the street and wise ways
Spend life sipping own wines.

A perfect world we seek
Hanker after carnal needs
Of the self and all desires
Spend life burning up in fires.

Don't we just! How much we miss when we're seeking for something that isn't there and ignoring the wonderful under our very noses.

I like the tone of this poem and the strong, important message.

Annart, you are so right. In our haste to shape things to fit in our thinking patterns, we avoid the guys and sometimes hurt them. We must nourish love in our heart first. Thanks for visiting this hub and for such kind and generous words

Faith, we have been bestowed with a great gift of life, but we take it for granted and overlap it with our own prejudices and narrow perceptions. Result, we remain unfulfilled and dissatisfied. I love you presence on this hub and generous comments you offered. Thanks for support and encouragement. All peace.

Lovely Harish and true for most. A lot of people are so lost in their own perfection that they forget about life and the world around them. I voted up, shared and pinned it.

Kevin, you are right. We shouldn't be overly obsessed with ourselves. A little bit of compassion and love in our heart will go a long way to enhance our life. Thanks for reading this hub and for all sharing.
