Love and Longing: My First Tanka Poems
Just an empty void
Longing for sweet caresses
Summer light fading
And the eyes that shined so bright
Burns as cold as winter's ice
Damaged sad Broken
A Ghost; ceases to exist
No more tomorrows
All dreams reside in the past
Till you come home again my love
You will think of me
When the pretty birds have flown
When you seek love again
When winter chills your very bones
I will comfort you once more
As the last snow falls
Like Spring sun on a cold brook
You will come to me
My knight on his dashing steed
Tenderly possessing me
