Love Broke My Heart
I was born
Into a situation forlorn
My creation
Faced spiritual extinction
‘Cos of a silly mistake
Made for curiosity’s sake
Eve took the apple
And the world came to know evil.
Adam failed to do his duty
And now I have to pay the penalty
I don’t mind doing the “dirty laundry”
It’s much worse watching them get lost in eternity
They go about their daily lives, pretending, putting on a brave face outside
Refusing My help because of silly pride
The miracles I did were not enough
They expected hot, anti-roman stuff
But what I offered was way different
I simply wanted them to truly repent
Life could have been so much easier
If they had all but taken My generous offer
I was nailed to a cross just to show them favour
They turned my sacrifice into a caricature - a silly labour
Now I’m in heaven, still doing My part
But I have to tell you – Love broke My heart.
