Because God is LOVE and the source of all there is, there is nothing that is created independently of Him. Love manifests outwardly in our lives when we diligently seek a personal relationship with God and begin to do the inner work needed to understand who God is and what love looks like in action. Then we can learn how to love ourselves and others the way God does. The following poems give a glimpse into agape, self and eros love based on my personal experiences:

Agape Love

Embrace love,
it covers a multitude of sins;
release the anger
in order to be productive,
effective, and win.

God is love and He created us all
to love ourselves, each other, and Him.
Make conscious choices to change our environment
and the hatred of this world we are living in.

How do we deal with life's tragedies
and keep moving forward, one day at a time?
Increase love and compassion from within our hearts
and godly thoughts from within our minds.

Stop reacting to negative behavior;
when we respond in love, life's problems can be solved.
Don't turn a blind eye to the chaos around you,
show love and don't be afraid to get involved.

SELF-LOVE

True Beauty

True beauty must be cultivated
from the inside
to last forever and never fade.
Being Christ-like in thought,
word and action
will reflect the God-image in whom you were made.

Self-love is a key component
to receive, radiate and give joy,
peace and love,
to be in alignment with God's greatest commandment
and to fulfill His will as in heaven above.

Extreme self-care is also important,
it includes the mental, emotional, spiritual and physical too.
But if your main focus is only on the outer appearance,
it will create an unhealthy imbalance within you.

Don't let fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry or beautiful clothes
be your passion and delight.
Instead, develop a gentle and quiet spirit,
which is precious in God's sight.

(1 Peter 3:3-4) "3 Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. 4 Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight."

Eros Love

My Heart Is Yours

Beautiful, unique, godly man
with a compassionate heart of LOVE;
A mutual joining of our souls was
a divinely timed gift from our Father above.

You captured my mind and spirit
unawares of your charms so sweet;
basking in the joy of your hospitality
is an experience I desire to forever repeat.

Your care, your touch,
your philosophy of life
is rare and very special by far.
And the fact that you love me
just the way I am
makes you my Shining Star!

I can talk to you about any and everything,
our conversations are wonderful and deep.
We smile a little brighter as our hearts sing
of this unfolding relationship, designed for keeps.
