Lovely Flower (poem)
A lovely flower whose home was a tree
Its beauty and charm it shared with the rest
There shared the sun in life richly blessed
Truly the best one hopes all would be
-
Each morning’s promise sweet music of birds
Soft kisses of lovers were whispers in breeze
The stars in the heavens would marvel at these
Those days those flowers beyond any words
-
Then came the fall when colors did show
And one by one the flowers took flight
In fragrant beauty they passed in delight
Except the flower which would not let go
-
Now death for its flowers soon happened by
And claimed the flower which never did fly
