Poetry of Love

When your feeling alone till a friend says they care

This is the power of love

When you have very little but you choose to share

That is the power of love

When your child is sick and it causes you pain

This is the power of love

When your feeling sad and a hug makes you sane

That is the power of love

When your day's been tough till your dog licks your face

This is the power of love

When battling cancer and sister would take your place

That is the power of love

Love is a gift that keeps on giving

It is what makes our lives worth living

This made the hairs on my arms stand on end... its so simply lovely..my sister died of cancer when she was 15 and she fought the battle from the age of 12 - and for those 3 years (I was just 10 months older) I would have given anything to take the pain from her. Your lovely message evokes deep emotion; well done!

Very true. We get love from everyone around us, but still we feel alone. If people can remember love not always have to come from lover or spouse, they will not really suffer from loneliness and hurt themselves in the process. Thank you for this beautiful remainder. :)

Oh, Brightforyou-I am so sorry to hear about your sister. It must have been so hard to watch her go through such a struggle. I am sure she is watching over you and blessing you in life. She knows how much you loved her now that she is in a better place. My twin sister was a basket case when I was diagnosed with lung cancer at 41. She took such great care of me and she often stated that she wished she could switch places. Love is so amazing and healing. I know the biggest part of my healing was the love I received from her and her two kids. I moved in with them when I got sick. God Bless you for taking time to read my poem.

Freya-You are very right and very wise that love comes in many ways and that is what God wants us to remember. It comes from friends, pets, siblings, strangers we reach out to and on and on...Bless you dear for brightening my day by stopping by for a visit.

What a beautiful heartfelt poem MT. True love comes from deep within the soul. God indeed tells us that the greatest thing of all is love. It can be given in many different ways. A look, a touch, an embrace. It can be words or deeds. Written in a card or letter, a bunch of flowers or a call on the phone. How any one of these loving gestures can change the lives of people in despair. The most wonderful part is that love is free.

    God Bless You

Loves To Read-You are so right about Love. There are so many ways we can give and receive love. Without Love, we have nothing here, but with it, we have everything we need. Have a beautiful day sweet friend.
