Loving Others Again

Updated on June 13, 2011

Be Patient

With so many thoughts running through our minds at one time

It does not surprise me when we get confused

Some emotions are so strong that they sweep us off our feet

It seems easier to ignore love than to be hurt again

We focus on the hurt and the pain

Replaying those sad times over and over like scratches on a c.d. that continues to skip

We believe we can never leave

We find comfort going back to the same familiar place that we were hours and days before

Like oil men on a big rig

We refuse to leave

So we keep drilling in the same hole

The hole gets deeper and deeper

The only difference is there is no oil there

We know the facts but we refuse to listen

Angry at the world for not helping us

When it is us that has to help ourselves

To a new and better life

We have made mistakes

We have felt the pain

Now it is time for us to make a better choice

To feel good again and to let go of those feelings we know that hurt us so

No one can help us through this door way that we don't want to walk through

People we care about give us suggestions and help

Religions across the world offer many prayers for comfort

Almighty God is there

It is once again left up to us to decide

Do we want to let peace come through

Are we done causing our own misery

That will continue as long as we let it

Have we found something in life to cling to

That we hold dear and we can open our hearts and our minds

Then finally let go of the tears and show our true emotions

We have the right to live a life of love

Let the good emotions serve us well

To teach us life is not a living hell

But a place where all our thoughts our held

When we give and care happiness sneaks its way in

Slowly things don't seem as bad as they were

We are a far cry from feeling all those great feelings that we once did feel

Let one feeling come and go

Decide if that feeling is helping you or hurting you

If it is helping you accept it into your life

If it is hurting you dismiss it as a cold or flu that you learned how to shake

It came and stayed a bit but now you learned how to send it away

Now do what you love to do

Those interests will occupy your thoughts and mind

The blahs will disappear

Soon you will let go of those unneccesary fears that controlled you

Then we can live again and love will tag close behind

To teach us

Love is always there

No matter if we see it or not

Then and only then we can let it in
