MEMORIES WE SHARE – Part 17
Comes the Winter
snow
flakes
falling
You see them sparkle
I hear
death calling
Who decides what’s right for me?
because you love me
Set me free
You hear only words of hope
I have traveled far and wide
I am tired, I am sick
don’t take from me
my last, my pride
You want me here
I know you’ll grieve
but it is my choice
now to leave
Please don’t hold me oh so tight
You awake for day
I pray for night
Let me have
this final dignity
Understand this choice
I’ve made is right, for me
I’ve loved you for a long time
and I love you still
but it’s time for me to go now
please respect my final will
I believe we’ll be together
again in future times
My heart is filled with sadness
but this choice has to be mine
Please don’t think that I am quitting
I’m only doing what comes naturally
let me do this as I need to
it’s all right to let me be
I’ve weighed all the options
and I know that this is right
for me the end will come, love
as you kiss my lips goodnight
