My Valentine Sweet Valentine
Love Never Fails it Never Gives Up
My Valentine
I want to give you all your dreams,
and wrap them with a bow,
but for now, it doesn’t seem,
that’s the way to go.
For a moment I was sad,
I could not give you things,
a card, some chocolate, power tools
or really any, thing.
We got the kids some valentines,
and hid them all around,
incredible all the joy that comes,
from cards that they have found.
No matter what the age they are,
they always seem to see,
the magic in a Valentine,
signed by you and me.
We had no extras at the time,
but that just didn’t matter.
We knew the joy that these would bring,
when they would find them scattered.
I pulled up to your place of work,
and quickly you jumped in,
you signed each little Valentine,
your smile was the win!
You started this tradition,
when they were tiny beings,
and every year they look around,
to see where they would fall.
Sweet Little Valentine You Make Me Happy When Skies Are Blue
So long ago God gave me you,
and I was not sure why?
It must have been because he knew,
that you could be the guy.
The one so very opposite,
of everything I am,
that given time with every jump,
would make me think we can.
When you arrived,
I was in awe,
as things were so brand new.
I hadn’t shown my super flaw’s,
before we said I do.
When you asked,
please Marry Me,
my mask was on so tight.
The way that you would look at me,
I knew I was alright.
As time passed by,
so many years,
You pulled that mask away!
Perhaps not liking what you saw,
and yet you always stayed.
We have the gift of love is blind,
and mostly see the good,
but of course, we see the bad,
as we really should.
In marriage or relationship,
there is no perfect pair,
only when we want to work,
can we make it fair?
Every time that favor came,
a trial surely followed,
but our love grew strong and firm,
and we would rarely wallow.
The little joys of life have been,
the filler for the cracks.
For every couple has to work,
to keep a marriage on the tracks.
Forever Love
Now we have played some bumper cars,
road some coasters on the way.
But we looked to the word of God,
and that always made us say.
“I am blessed to have you.
in my life today,
for yesterday and always,
No matter come what may.”
Love is not about the stuff,
that I could give to you,
but all about the compromise,
that always sees us through.
Together we have loved so much,
and Blessings we have shared,
God gave me all my dreams for sure,
though there are some snares.
When difficulty comes to love,
it shakes you to the core,
it makes the greatest loves of all,
be tested even more.
Most days we try to get it right,
but often we will stumble,
it takes some prayer and quietness,
to finally make us humble.
I want to give you all your dreams,
and wrap them in a bow,
but for now, we do the work,
as that’s what makes us grow.
The trials that are in our midst,
can’t break what we have had,
but it can shake us up and down,
and really make us mad.
I realize we do not choose,
the cards that we are dealt,
but even when they’re trying,
love is always felt.
The sadness comes,
when darts are flying,
out of our control,
For you, I’d take one to the heart,
if the truth is told.
Because you mean so much to me,
and one day I am sure,
all the struggle of this life,
will be behind a door.
This door will be so welcoming,
and on the other side,
will be the outstretched arms
from which we will never hide.
And in this place where we will meet,
together or apart,
we can love forever,
and there will be no darts.
For everything that we go through,
within the days ahead,
will only make us realize,
the cross is where we’re fed.
And when we meet Him,
and look into His eyes,
He will shine a loving light,
a light that never dies!
The End, well really the beginning. Come what may, I love you my sweet Valentine!

I loved this totally honest poem of true love; we have to ride the bad as well as the good times and when we last through thick and thin this is when we know we have true love.
I love this one and I can also relate;I was married to an
abusive alcoholic for 26 years ;but found the courage to leave then met my present partner who is my soul mate for the past six years. We have been through thick and thin and come out the other side stronger. This is true love;thank you so much for sharing this gem;it made me re-remember how fortunate I now am.
I now look forward to reading many more from you and I am glad you came across me on here.
Take care and enjoy your day.
Eddy.
