Making Amends

 if you had 24 hours to tie up loose ends
and finally make amends
how would you begin it all
before you started to fall
when everything is silenced
and you life is sentenced
with your head spinning
out of control and thinning
you are running out time
before you pay for your crime
you want only to run
and beat the rise of the sun
before they lay the flowers over your grave
make your plans before they fade
it's getting closer now
you panic, feel the sweat on your brow
you try to face your fears
and dry the stale tears
you numb the pain
even though you feel insane
would you drop down to your knees
and pray to god asking please please please?
or would you accept who you are
and willingly walk into the dark
ignoring the light slowly approaching
hiding and crouching
behind a lonely cloud
even when you feel its touch screaming loud
or would you stand your ground
even though your fate was set and bound
and fight off your sins
one by one watching them slowly thin
ask for salvation
a cleansing deprivation
forgiveness
as god is your witness
