Making Family Work

Updated on March 13, 2013

24/7

Yes it is true

Family values run deep

They are instilled in each one of us when we are little

We have to decide to keep them or change with the tide

If we go against the current we will always struggle with trying to make things work

When we see each other for who we are

Listening to all our faults and accepting our mistakes

We can make every day happen

Some days are far from easy

Other days seem to vanish as soon as they come

Years later we will see the path we have chosen

The outcome will be clear

We have no reason not to be happy

As long as we tried to mend things as needed

Trust in ourselves and each other to do the right thing

Helping instead of hurting

Keeping our family close by choice

Freedom to enjoy all the liberties and peace

Bonds that last longer than life

Instilled in my mind

Watching over the years where teamwork and cooperation are constantly needed

Make each job easier and the hard days bearable

It is so nice to know

What I have learned works and it shows

Gypsy Rose Lee I was the youngest son and I have three older brothers. Both grandparents on both sides had already passed when I was very young.I never knew them.My wife is an only child. My wife and I have no children and our family is just the two of us.A family is the family unit not neccessarily people. The things we do together and the loves we share and the problems we bare.Make up our family. The bonds that we strengthen and the vows that we make bring us closer and closer.I constantly find little things in our family now that many big families never have.Listening to each other talk.Making sure each other is happy.Working together to get things done because there is no one else to do it.Look into the wonderful loves that you have and see the magic that you both continue to share each day. That is the family that makes life incredible in every way.Thanx so much for reading and sharing.

I agree that family life is important and families are special. However I've never had a large family so sometimes I do miss having brothers and sisters and even grandparents around. Both my husband and I are orphans. Our parents on both sides having passed on. So those who do have families certainly must cherish them.

DDE I think it is so engrained in who we are we can't escape it even if we tried.Family is a connection that gave us meaning. As we grow older we break away from are original family to start our own family.A family within a family so to speak. We live out our life in that family as our children will branch off and begin once again their own journey and watch and see their own family grow.Thanx so much for reading and sharing.
