Mama's Eternal Apron String, Inspired By I Need to See You Mum By Poetlorraine
Mom's are the first dwelling place we were ever offered on earth, a cozy womb
I miss my mom so much but I love the permanent curlicue that she me
We are still
attached to that
umbilical cord
that was severed
at birth,
its remnant
remains forever.
We were
all blessed
with a button
to remind us
of just how
precious our
mothers are.
A dimpled
little recess
in our bellies,
whether an
innie or an outie
that is the
circle of life.
We come from
our mums and
then we become
like mums,
with children
to raise to be
as good as
our mum was.
@
Mom is always
with us just
below our heart
about seven to
nine inches or so,
puckered up
like her kisses
used to be.
A constant
reminder of
how close to her
we once were
and always will be.
Take a moment
to touch that
sacred port
that once sustained
you in her womb
and whisper
I love you, Mom.
then clean
the lint out
cause she wasn't
big on lint,
and savor
the memories
that never
grow old.
