Manipulating What Is Nothing

Updated on May 10, 2013

Manipulating what is nothing
Starting from nowhere
Hoping to get somewhere

Just a walk through the forest of thought
Listening to birds sing
Paying me no mind
Noticing the clouds
Hoping for rain
And getting my wish

Oh what a sweet sound
Of rivers gasping
Of creeks awakening
Of dust smiling as it waves farewell
On the eve of a summer to remember

It will wait
For we deserved this moment

We always try to connect to something
Like nature on a beautiful day
But the longing doesn’t seem to work
We are full of wonder
But remain apart

Standing next to a light when lightning strikes
You hear the crackle of the filament
And suddenly you are connected
In ways that only a scientist can explain

But only when nature is angry

They say God walks on earth in a storm
For what is random to us is will to him
And we recoil when the heavens open up
And pray that we are saved from what we loved

I wonder why a woman would ever have a baby
They are changed forever in ways they may never understand
Life is seldom created in a peaceful way
It is the same with death
There is no dignity as we enter and then depart
And when lightning strikes
We hear the fear inside the things we invented
Telling us that we are still finding our way

"God walks the earth in a storm", well said, and I believe that He has need to remind us all that we are very small and He is very great. Thanks for this well done work and its beauty. whonu
