Matador de toros

Updated on July 21, 2011

He looked into the eyes of the bull

as he swung his cape in front of its horn

with a poetic frame of mind,

No contest, no punctuation, no classification,

this bull is going down!

Who cares about fame and fortune?

they're only passing things,

I am a Pop Star, Matador de torso of the ring

Breaking free of the corral, looking stronger than a lion

faster than a race horse, the bull rushes in with fury

Now fear begin!

The bull horn glistened in the sun

The Matador's flamboyant costume sparkles

Moments of truth in the arena

El momento de la verdad

his life or my life

degrading or entertaining?

I am Matador de`toros

killer of the bulls.

I love that poem especially the last three lines.

      'degrading or entertaining

      i am a matador de'toros

      killer of bulls'

      [some lines for you]

      they care-less, killing for fun

      people clapping and shouting

      his mind racing

      as the bull approaches

      his mind at a pace

      glory beckoning

      fame at his doorsteps

all at the expense of a life

      a rare[unkind] way of fun

      the killer of bulls

lol, that's my own rendition of the poem. Thanks so much for capturing that thought.
